I never thought it would be this hard to find a job in Leeds! Especially with the 3 years of experience I have behind me. I was actually gobsmacked to hear the latest reason an employer gave me to why my application was unsuccessful...because I am Male!
Apperently the company had a policy of hiring a certain number of males and females. After the nearly 6 months of trying since moving up here, could this be the straw that broke the camels back?

After participating in a Public Relations course for nearly a full academic year, I am still unsure whether or not after graduating (hopefully) I will use the degree gained to ACTUALLY become a full-on PR Practitioner, after gaining work experience, I found that the employers that I worked for, were simply looking for graduate students that had degrees within the the area of business...I wonder how many graduates actually use the specailist skills learnt at uni in everyday working life?

Stick with it Adam, I tried about 16 places for a part-time job when I moved from Sunderland to Hartlepool (about 1/2 hour away) and got told I had too much experience!
I'mp leased now though as it made me all the more determined to get the job at apt, which I love! Great blog, I look forward to reading more!
